Christi Jo Christian, DC, ICCSP

As the founder of iBackCheck Sport Therapy, Dr. Christian believes that integrating chiropractic, physical therapy and massage therapy is the fastest road to recovery from injury. A native of Minnesota, Dr. Christian is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and is an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Dr. Christian’s experience includes private practice, medical staff for Susan G. Komen 3-day, medical staff 2013 World Racquetball Championships, sports chiropractor for the 2016 Wayzata Boys Hockey State Championship Team and medical staff for 2016 Team USA u18 Boys Hockey World Championships.  Currently, she serves as the team physician for Professional Women's Hockey Player's Association (PWHPA). 

 

As a wife and mother of 3, an avid runner, and from working on athletes, Dr. Christian understands firsthand the importance of maintaining the body’s peak performance.

Lisa Zeman, MPT, CLT

Lisa has been a physical therapist for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a Masters in Physical Therapy from University of Mary, Bismarck North Dakota. Lisa began her career working in pediatric private practice settings then transitioned into Outpatient Orthopedics. She has worked with patients ages newborn to 107 years of age.


Lisa has a passion for looking deep at movement patterns. She uses a creative approach of manual techniques, strengthening, and movement retraining. Examples include video analysis of running, biking, swimming, jump landing, and assessing work/daily movements. She has collaborated in development of Bike and Run Programs throughout her career. She enjoys the variety of seeing injuries literally from head to toe.


She has strong expertise and heart for working with youth athletes to prevent and treat overuse injuries. Youth are more prone to different injuries because their bones are just forming, and they have open growth plates. Injuries can occur such as stress fractures, avulsion fractures, and apophysitis due to overloading a young athletes’ tissues. Lisa has expertise and a strong understanding of how the body grows and develops and the differences in injuries and treatment approaches from young to aged athletes. She has experience helping individuals get back to activities after they sustain a concussion. She has also worked in an outpatient clinic for a Level 1 Trauma Hospital. There she gained expertise in working with patients who had sustained complex fractures and injuries and worked very closely with orthopedic trauma and sports medicine physicians. There she also secured grant funds to develop a Community Bone Health education program and presented at National Orthopedic and Local Primary Care Conferences. She worked at a Breast Health Center focused on prevention and treatment of
lymphedema and care after post-operative Breast Cancer and Breast Reconstruction Surgeries.
Throughout college, she worked at Camp Courage. She has a passion for helping all reach their daily and life goals.

Lisa lives locally with her husband and two young children who are involved in youth sports. She enjoys running, biking, swimming, kayaking and is known for convincing close family and friends to take part in an outdoor adventure. She has a strong commitment to her family, friends, community and profession.

Renee Hancock, PT, DPT
 

Renee received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Minnesota in 2007. She began her career working in long-term care and transitional care facilities before transitioning to outpatient orthopedic care in 2009. Renee has worked in private practice since 2009, with over 15 years of orthopedic experience and additionally specializing in pelvic floor physical therapy during the past 5 years.

She enjoys the opportunity to hear her patient's stories and to work alongside them to develop the best plan for helping each patient reach their goals. In pelvic floor physical therapy, we can work together to decrease your pelvic symptoms, which can include:
 

  • Pelvic pain

  • Urinary urgency/frequency

  • Urinary leakage

  • Bowel dysfunction

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Pregnancy and postpartum concerns


Renee, her husband, two children, and their pets reside in Elk River. During the winter season, they are often seen at the local ice arena, watching their children play hockey. In the summertime, they spend time at the lake swimming, kayaking, or fishing together. Renee also enjoys reading books, playing the piano, or generally spending time outdoors in her garden and enjoying the sunshine.

Connor Knutson PT, DPT
 

Connor is a dedicated physical therapist who specializes in sports therapy and concussion rehabilitation. With a deep-rooted passion for helping individuals recover and thrive, Connor has honed a unique skill set that blends expert knowledge of biomechanics, sports science, and cutting-edge concussion treatment protocols.

Born with a natural interest in human movement and performance, Connor pursued a degree in Physical Therapy at Arcadia University, which he completed in 2023. Through his own experience with concussion rehabilitation, Connor has developed a passion for not only treating injuries but also educating athletes, coaches, and the general public on how to prevent them.

Throughout his career, Connor has worked with athletes at all levels—from weekend warriors to professional competitors—helping them recover from injuries and return to peak performance. In addition to his professional work, Connor is an avid strength trainer and coach. This personal passion for fitness has given him a unique perspective on how the body responds to exercise and injury. By combining the principles of strength training with rehabilitation techniques, he creates individualized programs that emphasize not only recovery but also long-term performance and injury prevention. This approach has earned them a reputation as a results-driven therapist who understands the balance between rehabilitation and performance enhancement.
